About The Visionaries
The strength of KAISA lies in part in the two incredible women at its helm. Among them is Modikwa Kamogelo Dintwe, whose journey into the world of mining and engineering was not easy yet marked by determination and an unyielding commitment to success. Having worked in the handling business for three years, Modikwa and her co-founder developed an intimate understanding of the industry’s demands and challenges. She saw where the industry was failing—particularly in recognizing the talent and contributions of new and exciting perspectives.
Modikwa faced several personal and financial hurdles transitioning from stable employment to entrepreneurship. She candidly shares the difficulties of starting a business, including the sacrifices she had to make: “By then, you don’t even have a salary. There are contractual things that I got into, like, for example, the basic one, cell phone contract. I couldn’t repay that anymore.” Despite these obstacles, her drive to create something meaningful in an industry that often overlooks women kept her going.
Modikwa and her co-founder embarked on this journey with one shared belief: that confidence in their vision would transcend the barriers of gender. The idea is that two women can redefine the industry, creating lasting change for their community.
